THE CAT SPENDS THE SUMMER IN BREST
The most popular animal in the comic strip is taking over public spaces for a cheerful tour. Eighteen years after his ‘Grande Expo’ at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts, Philippe Geluck was welcomed in Paris (just as Fernando Botero was in 1992) on the most beautiful avenue in the world: the Champs-Élysées. ‘Le Chat déambule’ then moved on to Bordeaux, followed by Caen, Geneva, Monaco and Montreux, and has already attracted more than 6 million fans of humorous art who say they are moved not only by the humour and poetry, but also by the profound themes addressed by the artist.
The Cat’s statues then headed home. After spending almost a year in the heart of the Parc Royal in Brussels, the exhibition continued on to Guérande, then Lyon. The Cat has now settled in Brest (France), where 15 monumental statues are currently on display (until 5 October 2026).
